Board Members Vicki Kirsner and Marsha Koch ventured south to check out our new member Gustavo Orlean’s beautiful showroom, Orlean, in the Miami Design District.
We wanted to visit some of the showrooms there and Orlean seemed like a great place to start. It is a contemporary showroom featuring fabulous fabrics and wallpaper to the trade.
Owner Gustavo Orlean was out of town but we met Mom and Dad Orlean who are from Brazil and the Showroom Manager Cristhian Fong. Luckily we also had Vicki’s friend Carla who is also Brazilian and became our handy translator. We chatted about the many benefits of being a Florida Chapter Sponsor and shared ideas for an upcoming event in the Design District.
We browsed through fabulous fabrics showcasing the latest trends like the laser cut metallic below.
Vicki admired one of the beautiful embroidered linens they offer.
They represent their own line from Brazil, another exclusive line from Great Britan and many more.
One wall was a huge wallpaper image divided into “window panes”. It was spectacular in person and made quite a statement in the showroom.
Cristhian described some of the other incredible contemporary wallpapers and murals they also carry to Marsha.
IFDA Florida is excited to welcome the Orlean family to our chapter and look forward to supporting them as they grow their business and to getting to know Gustavo when he returns from Brazil.
We were also delighted to learn that Orlean is a generous supporter of KidSanctuary Campus, who was one of the beneficiaries of our Take a Seat fundraiser. They donated products to many of the talented Interior Designers of the cottages on the campus.
Here are more of the beautiful things we saw on our visit.
The workspace for designers is lined with chairs cleverly covered in some of their popular textiles.
Thank you Cristhian for taking the time to show us around and for the warm welcome you gave us.
